Isn’t Jack handsome with his fresh spring haircut? I think so.
He was a little annoyed that we left him at the groomer for the trim.
At first he didn’t understand why haircuts were such a big deal.
Then he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror and immediately knew—he looked very handsome.
Coincidentally, this weekend another kind of “handsome” animal arrived at my door: a brand new Dyson Animal vacuum. The timing could not have been better.
Fair warning: the next photo is a bit gross.

This is what came out of the carpet the first time I vacuumed with the Dyson: a shocking amount of dust and dog hair.
I can hear you gasping: “EW — that was in her carpet?” Yes. It was. We hadn’t vacuumed in quite a while since our old Kirby was donated to the church, but still—seeing that much hair and dust was gross.
Imagine if Jack were a heavier shedder. He’s supposed to be a low-to-no-shed breed, but clearly the carpet had collected a lot. The fact that the Dyson pulled up that much debris convinced me this vacuum is a keeper. I won’t be parting with it anytime soon.
Disclosure: I wasn’t paid to endorse the product. Dyson provided the vacuum for review, and I accepted it out of desperation—I wanted a machine that would actually pick up what had been hiding in my floors. After using it, I genuinely like this vacuum. The Dyson Animal is lightweight, easy to maneuver, and simple to control. It performed exactly as I hoped and then some.
Meanwhile, this white fluffy Goldendoodle is a different story.
Disclosure: Jack is neither lightweight nor easy to control. He doesn’t always do what I expect. We paid full price for him, but I think we’ll keep him. He starts puppy school on Monday—there is hope! Last week he helped himself to tuna casserole, and this week he ate a dime.
Coming up this week: my new curtains arrived, the wonderful new chairs I ordered for my office (YIPEEE!), and I’ll be sharing my spring mantel reveal.
Question:
Do you have a dog that sheds, and how do you keep your home clean with pets?
