Life Lately: Recent Moments from My Instagram Feed

Hi friends! Saturday was gorgeous and the sunshine felt wonderful. Our magnolia tree outside the kitchen window is just about to burst into pink blooms — the sun certainly helped. I hope you’re finally done with snow where you are. I’m so ready for warmer days.

I’ll be sharing more updates this week from around the house, including more on the kitchen remodel. I’ve been slow responding to questions, but I’ll get back to them soon.

First, here’s a little peek at life lately through our Instagram posts.

You can never have too many plants. We have them on walls and tables, and I love the greenery throughout the house. I enjoy tending to them, chatting with them, and even giving them names.

Our new palm in the dining room is named Pete.

Jack has been up to his usual antics. This week he got overly excited when Courtney visited and somehow jumped right up onto the dining room table. We were all surprised — Jack will be six soon and still acts like a puppy sometimes.

My daughters and I took a break from a busy week for brunch at The Fat Hen, a small but delicious local restaurant. Our favorite is the Eggs Benedict, and we always share a pot of French press coffee. Everything we’ve tried there has been excellent.

Some time ago we did an “Out to See” post on the Fat Hen. I forget to do those posts often, but I’d like to get back to sharing favorite local places when we visit them.

At home we try to eat well. Kylee made a beautiful smoothie bowl this week with blended banana, frozen raspberries, and almond milk, topped with fresh banana, bee pollen, raspberries, chia and hemp seeds, coconut, and mango. It was as tasty as it looked.
