Hey friends! I’m excited to share some big news: I’ve been invited to participate in a rug design challenge organized by Annie Selke for Dash & Albert. I’ve admired Dash & Albert for years, so the opportunity to design a rug for one of my favorite brands felt surreal and thrilling.

Design a rug? Me? I couldn’t say yes fast enough.

This is my first time designing a product like this, so I’ll admit I felt a little nervous. That’s where you come in — I’d love for you to join me on this journey. I’ll need your feedback and support to make it count.

About the rug challenge

Fifteen digital influencers in the design and home décor space will each submit a rug design that reflects their personal aesthetic. Those designs will be featured on Annie Selke’s Instagram page, where the public will vote for the rugs they’d like to see produced.

The top ten designs with the most votes between July 6 and July 20 will be produced and sold by Dash & Albert, an Annie Selke company.

I can hardly imagine how it would feel to see a rug I designed become a real product sold by Dash & Albert. I might even persuade Jack to be a dog model on the launch photoshoot!

Will you help me make this happen? The other participating design bloggers are incredibly talented, so I’ll need every vote and bit of support I can get. When the competition begins I’ll share how you can vote — I’d be so grateful for your help.

I’m not naturally competitive, but I’m approaching this as a fun creative challenge — a great way to try something new as I celebrate my 10th year blogging. It feels like the perfect moment to step out of my comfort zone and create something I’ve never made before. I’m thrilled to have you along for the adventure.

What would your dream rug look like? Let’s dream together.

Be sure to follow Annie Selke and The Inspired Room on Instagram so you don’t miss the design process and the opportunity to vote.

Below are the participating designers — each rug will be beautiful, so no matter who wins, there will be plenty of inspiration.
