Warmth and Charm of Wallpaper: Cozy Ideas for Stylish Walls

I know many of you still feel uneasy about wallpaper. If you remember your mother’s yellow-and-orange kitchen or a grandmother’s floral living room, it’s easy to understand why. Wallpaper certainly went through a period of questionable taste, and older papers were often difficult to remove.

For some, a single image is enough to bring back those memories.

But wallpaper deserves a second look. It doesn’t have to be the eyesore you recall.

Consider applying wallpaper in small doses: an entryway, a powder room, or a single accent wall. Small applications are less risky and can transform a space without overwhelming it. Wallpaper has returned to popularity and can instantly warm a room and add character.

I sell some of these patterns in my shop and I’m thinking about using one in my powder room or bedroom someday. Right now other projects are underway and I don’t have time to tackle wallpapering, but I still admire how wallpaper completes a room.

That entryway shown is lovely—an elegant example of how the right paper can elevate a space.

Are you willing to try wallpaper, or will you stick with “no”? Small, well-chosen applications can surprise you with how much they enhance a home.
