House Tours
Greetings and welcome to Day Three of the Summer Tour of Homes! Twenty-five beautiful homes are participating in this week-long celebration of summer decorating and home updates. If you missed Day One or Day Two, be sure to catch up — there’s so much inspiration to explore. I’m excited to share my home with you and hope you enjoy seeing how we’ve updated and decorated our spaces.

Thanks to Gina at Shabby Creek Cottage for organizing this tour and inviting everyone to join in. If you’re new here, welcome to The Inspired Room — I love connecting with fellow home lovers. I’ve been blogging for several years and truly enjoy sharing decorating ideas, budget-friendly projects, and simple DIYs. If you’re a regular reader, I’ve added some fresh photos you might not have seen yet.

I’ve lived in this house for a few years and recently completed a kitchen remodel that I’m very happy with. A home is always a work in progress, though, and I have many plans for finishing touches and future updates. I enjoy decorating on a budget, repurposing pieces I already own, and hunting for affordable finds. Occasionally I tackle DIY projects too — it’s part of the fun.

For links to my projects and updates, visit my main House Tour page or the Decorating 101 section, where you’ll find step-by-step tips and inspiration for creating a home that feels comfortable and inviting. If you’re curious about specific items, colors, or products in the kitchen, I keep a source page with details and a full kitchen reveal that answers many common questions.

A new favorite in my kitchen is the oversized round cutting board from Boxwoods Furnishings — it’s large, beautiful, and practical for serving or styling the counter.

If you’ve asked about the rustic round mirror in the kitchen, I’ve shared the source and styling tips in a previous post.

We transformed the under-stairs area into an organized pantry with IKEA solutions — small changes like this make daily life easier.

The “take action” message board in our home helps keep paper clutter under control and serves as a hub for reminders and notes.

I created a DIY map wall that adds character and visual interest to a hallway — it’s an affordable and creative way to make a statement.

A gallery wall and updated dresser hardware refreshed the family room without a large budget — rearranging and replacing small details can have big impact.

You can find more posts about the family room, including styling and layout ideas, on my site.

The entry makeover is another project I’ve documented with progress photos and practical updates to create a welcoming first impression.

I haven’t shared an update on our living or gathering room in a while, so expect more posts with plans and progress. The room continues to evolve as we add or change pieces to better suit our lifestyle.

My dining room has also received attention with thoughtful styling and coordinated accents; you can read more about that space in the dining room posts.

The home office is a functional space designed for productivity and comfort; I’ve shared organization tips and styling ideas that make it easy to work from home.

Our powder room makeover demonstrates how paint, hardware, and accessories can transform a small bathroom on a modest budget.

The kids’ bathroom update includes bright colors and practical design choices to keep the space cheerful and easy to maintain.

I’ve also been working on the master bedroom — small layered changes can create a calmer, more cohesive retreat.

The front door makeover refreshed our home’s curb appeal and made the entry feel more welcoming.

I love outdoor rooms and small indoor/outdoor garden projects. Simple planters, herb pots, and functional potting areas bring life to porches and patios.
Our home is full of life and joy, in part because we have two adorable dogs. Meet Lily, the new little sister to Jack — a sweet Australian Labradoodle who has quickly captured our hearts. We’ll introduce her properly with photos and stories soon.

Jack will no doubt share some of their adventures on his dog blog and social pages. Pets add so much warmth to a home and we love having them as part of our everyday life.
Thank you for stopping by today. For more details on any of these rooms, visit my House Tour page or the Decorating 101 series where you’ll find posts, sources, and step-by-step ideas to recreate looks in your own home.

Come back again soon!
