You may remember that back in April, when Sherry was still expecting, we had some visitors stop by Clara’s nursery—one of them even brought a big camera.

The photos from that double-duty shoot for Do It Yourself magazine and Kitchen + Bath Makeovers have finally been published. The Do It Yourself images are already out in the Fall 2010 issue, and some of you have mentioned seeing them on newsstands. The Kitchen + Bath Makeovers pictures will appear later this year.

For one issue, our usual “He Said, She Said” advice column took a break to showcase Clara’s DIY-filled nursery. There’s even a shot from a unique angle that required a ladder outside Clara’s window to get the perfect view. To see a larger version and read the full caption, click the image in the magazine.
The issue has plenty more to explore. We like that they themed it “second chances,” focusing on giving new life to salvaged and repurposed items. If you’re curious, pick up a copy at stores like Barnes & Noble or check if it’s available at Home Depot locations that stock magazines.
In other magazine news, Sherry was featured in the latest ReadyMade issue. If you look at the bottom of that cover, you’ll see the mention “Speed Clean Your House”—that’s where Sherry’s contribution appears.

Flip to page 30 for Sherry’s interview or view an enlarged version of the page in the magazine. ReadyMade also hosts content on their website if you prefer to read it online. The feature is a roundup of quick cleaning ideas meant to make tidying faster and simpler. Note: a tip about chlorine bleach was added by the writer, included for readers who aren’t aware of our aversion to bleach.
The rest of the ReadyMade issue is full of inventive projects and clever ideas—things like a green-roofed dog house featured on page 38. It reminded us how much we enjoy the magazine’s DIY spirit and creative energy.
But enough about our magazine appearances—what are your best cleaning shortcuts and time-saving tricks? We’re always open to new ideas for getting things done faster and easier, so please share your favorites.
