Did you hear the news?

My kitchen reveal isn’t quite finished yet (I’m still styling the glass cabinets), but there’s even more exciting news to share.

This February I’ll be a grandma!

My empty nest won’t feel so empty anymore — my daughter Courtney is having a baby!

You can watch the announcement video on Instagram.

The last six months have been busy with kitchen projects, new flooring, paint, and work on the Tiny Cottage, and I’m so glad the big tasks are done before our little one arrives. Having the major renovations behind us makes the coming months feel calmer and more joyful.

I’ll admit the process has felt slow at times while waiting on contractors, and moving everything out for painters unsettled the house even more. Still, progress keeps happening and we’re checking off the remaining items on the punch list.

One of the highlights while waiting has been styling the glass cabinets and shelves. I’ve always loved collecting dishes but haven’t often had a place to display them. Designing cabinets that showcase seasonal favorites while keeping plenty of drawers to hide the everyday items was important to me in this kitchen. I can’t wait to change these displays with each season — personal collections make a house feel like home.

Whatever else happens with projects this week, next week I plan to be happily puttering in my new kitchen. The reveal photos will be coming soon, and I’ll be in full fall nesting mode — I was this close to turning on the fireplace today!

One more update: there’s one final day to join our fall and holiday session in HomeBody Gathering Place. I’d love for you to join us — it’s a special membership community I created with resources and mini-courses to help you create a cozy, well-kept home.

HomeBody Gathering Place is a membership filled with custom resources, seasonal downloads, and mini-courses designed to support creating a sanctuary in your home.

We’ll begin the fall session as a community on September 1 and won’t open again until the new year, so now is the last chance to join for this season.

You don’t need Facebook to participate; resources are available from a private dashboard and members receive weekly emails with content updates. For those who enjoy community interaction, we offer an optional private Facebook group for connection and accountability.
