DIY Gift Wrapping Station and Smart Storage Ideas

Creative Studios and Craft Room Inspiration

Who’s wrapping gifts this week? Wrapping is much more enjoyable when everything is organized — pretty paper, ribbons, tags and tools all ready at hand. We turned an old dresser into our dedicated wrapping station and it makes the whole process faster and more fun. Do you have a special spot for wrapping supplies?

Quick gift wrap storage tips:

  • Use a small rolling cart to hold craft supplies and tools. A compact cart keeps frequently used items within reach and can be moved to wherever you’re wrapping.
  • Make use of the back of a door. An over-the-door hook, an old garment bag, or a purpose-built wrap organizer are great ways to store rolls, ribbons and tissue without taking floor space.
  • Keep wrapping paper together in a simple waste bin or tall basket so rolls stay upright and easy to find.
  • Repurpose a dresser. We converted an entry dresser into a gift wrap station, using drawers for paper, tissue, ribbons and small supplies. Everything is in one place when we need it.

We also put together a short video showing how our gift wrap dresser is organized — it demonstrates how drawers can store rolls, tissue, ribbon and other supplies for quick, beautiful wrapping.
