Inside Courtney’s Seattle Studio: Stylish Small-Apartment Tour

Hi there! I’m Courtney, Melissa’s daughter, and I’m excited to share a full tour of my Seattle studio apartment.

About a year and a half ago I moved into my first place and it has been such a joy to make it my own. I’m grateful for the natural light, cozy layout, and small-space solutions that make this apartment feel like home.

If you saw my initial empty apartment tour or a few peeks on other posts, this is the official tour with updated photos and details. The images were taken on different days, so you may notice items that moved between shots.

Before this place I shared a tiny bedroom with my sister Kylee, so my current 600-square-foot studio feels roomy by comparison. The back wall is all floor-to-ceiling windows, which fills the space with light year-round. I work full time with my mom for The Inspired Room and often work from home here.

This is the main living area. I love how open it feels and how the light makes everything look inviting. Half the week I’m working from this room, and it doubles as a comfortable living and work area.

White vintage tea kettle / White toaster / Pink pot

This is my kitchen. I’m a simple cook, so the compact layout works well. Lately I’ve been learning to use my Instant Pot, which has been fun and handy.

Gold wall grid / Mug tree / Coffee maker

I have a small coffee station—definitely a trait from my mom. The coffee maker sits on a tidy counter and makes my mornings easier.

Black floor lamp / Shelf by desk

There’s a wall cutout that looks into the bedroom, which lets light pass through and visually connects the spaces. My desk area has evolved since these photos—I rarely used it for work, so it’s now serving as a TV stand.

Daybed / Ottoman / Rug / Similar dining chairs

My dining table is a drop-leaf pedestal style that works perfectly in the small space. I often use it as my desk too. The flexibility of the leaves gives me more room when I need it.

White metal bookshelf

The daybed used to be my main bed in a previous tiny bedroom and now doubles as seating and a guest bed here. It’s been great for hosting friends who visit Seattle.

String of pearls vase / Little Women book

I’m not the best with plants, but my string of pearls has been thriving—one of my proudest little victories.

Bunny planter / Perfectly Imperfect book

I seem to collect whimsical animal accessories around the apartment—they add personality and make the space feel playful.

Drop leaf pedestal dining table / similar dining chairs

My apartment often serves as a quiet spot for work meetings with my mom and sister—no barking dogs to interrupt us. Someday I’d love a small white dog, but for now I enjoy being the “dog aunt.”

Similar white metal beds / Mint pharmacy lamp / Copper string lights

This is the bedroom area. Unlike some Seattle studios with sliding frosted doors, my space is open, which makes it feel larger. The footboard of the bed provides a subtle visual separation between sleeping and living areas.

Floral measuring cup / Oil rack – HomeGoods

I was surprised to have room for a bookshelf and two nightstands in the bedroom. I use the shelf as a small essential oils station for nighttime diffusing.

The double doors hide the washer and dryer, which was a pleasant surprise. I appreciate having side-by-side units instead of stacked laundry—definitely a small adulthood milestone.

Having a functional laundry closet has been so convenient. I’ve organized the space to keep supplies handy and tidy.

Straight ahead from the living area is the entryway.

Framed cactus art / Whale art / IKEA Pax wardrobe frame with Bergsbo door and gold handle

The door on the right leads to the bathroom, which I’m still finishing up. The entry table is a handy spot for keys, and a leaning framed print hides an electrical box behind it—an easy decorating trick. For inexpensive large art, I like framing patterned gift wrap.

A few small accents and practical pieces help keep the apartment functional and personal. I like mixing practical storage with sentimental items to make the space feel lived-in and welcoming.
