I know how much readers enjoy home tours, so today I’m sharing a tour of the charming Seabrook beach cottage where we stayed for a few days this summer. The house belongs to our friend Cassie, who has contributed guest posts here in the past and whose kids’ room organization ideas appear in my book Simply Home.

We were excited to be among the first guests to stay in their new vacation rental, Grove Cottage. As you’ll see, it’s absolutely adorable and thoughtfully appointed.
If you decide to rent their vacation home, let them know I sent you. You can find rental details and the Grove Cottage Instagram on the listing.
The house is in Seabrook, the same coastal Washington town we visited a few years ago. Seabrook is a delightful spot for families—walkable, full of shops and restaurants, and offering beach time, bike rides, cozy fires on chilly evenings, and community events. The town has grown since our last visit, and each neighborhood has its own character.
Seabrook is a great choice year-round for a family getaway. You can stroll the streets, enjoy the shops and pool, relax by a firepit, or simply spend quiet time together. I’d love to rent several homes there someday for an extended family vacation.

Many homes in Seabrook blend Nantucket charm with a Pacific Northwest setting. I kept saying “It is so cute here!” as I wandered around. Cassie has clearly invested care and style into Grove Cottage, making it both welcoming and comfortable for guests and her own family.

The cottage is filled with thoughtful touches and several luxurious conveniences that make a stay easy and enjoyable. It’s clear the owners designed the space with families in mind, mixing practical needs with charming details.
Some of the features I noticed and appreciated:
- High-quality coffee and espresso equipment for morning routines.
- A tea kettle and selection of teas for cozy afternoons.
- Staub cast iron pot for making soups and family meals.
- Frame-style TVs that blend with the decor.
- Good sound system and speakers for music.
- Plenty of kid-friendly items—toys, games, sippy cups, and dishes.
- Dog-friendly amenities, including toys and a fenced yard.
- Puzzles, books, and cookbooks to browse during downtime.
- White noise machines for better sleep.
- Bikes available for exploring the neighborhood.
- Cozy throws, a fireplace, an outdoor firepit, and a BBQ.
- Rocking chairs on the porch and a hot tub for relaxing.
- Boutique-style toiletries like thoughtfully chosen soaps and shampoos.
Every corner felt curated yet comfortable—wallpaper, light fixtures, antiques, and textiles all contributed to a warm, lived-in feeling. I even spotted items similar to what I have at home, which made the space feel familiar and inviting.

Below are photos from our tour—prepare for a lot of cuteness. I’ve included images of the living areas, dining spaces, mudroom, kitchen coffee station, bedrooms, and bathrooms so you can get a sense of the layout and decor.

They displayed a deck of wildflower art cards in a bowl on the dining table—such a simple, lovely touch.

The mudroom entrance is excellent for dogs, coats, and gear. Hooks and storage keep everything organized and easy to access.
