Can you believe my fiddle leaf fig is still growing? I moved it into the dining room while the Christmas tree was here and worried the change of spot might upset it. Instead it kept thriving and even produced a new leaf this week.
This little fiddle leaf was near the end when we moved in. I’d lost a couple of its siblings at our previous house, and this plant looked pretty scrawny. Look at it now—so healthy and full of life. I’m proud of this recovery and love seeing it flourish.
Yesterday the sun came out in Seattle and it felt like spring had arrived inside and out. Plants perked up, sunlight warmed the room, and birds were chirping. I soaked up the warmth and the boost of winter vitamin D, even while knowing rainy days will return. Still, it was a joyful reminder of how much light and warmth affect mood and plants alike.
On the subject of staying well indoors during winter, I mentioned recently that I would share my personal health story explaining why a healthy home matters to me. Many readers reached out saying they were on similar journeys, so I finally published the full story for anyone interested. It explains what led me to prioritize a healthier home and some of the steps I took to get there.
I’ve also been doing a mini series on keeping a happy, healthy winter home over on Instagram at @pureandlovelyliving. If you don’t use Instagram, I post the same updates on Facebook. I’d love for you to follow along and join the conversation.
