We have two guest beds in our home: one in its own small bedroom and the other tucked into the Snug. I realized I hadn’t shared updated photos of this cozy bed nook under the eaves since we moved the bed here, so today I’m sharing new Snug Bed Nook photos and an update on the mattress.
A few months ago we added a Leesa mattress to this nook, and everyone who has stayed here loves it. It’s exceptionally comfortable—a perfect place for a nap, cuddling with a baby, or an overnight stay.

We chose the Leesa Legend Hybrid for the Snug. It feels luxurious but remains affordable, and it’s GreenGuard Gold certified, which gives me peace of mind when babies and little ones are snuggling here.

Creating a safe, comfortable retreat for our family matters to me, and having quality mattresses throughout the house is part of that. The angled ceilings in this room made me imagine a bed nook the minute we first walked through the house, and the mattress only adds to the snug feeling.

Last year we removed carpet and installed hardwood floors during a downstairs renovation. The new flooring makes the bed nook feel cleaner and more charming, especially with pets in the house.

It was worth doing the dustiest renovation work early on so that we could move on to finishing touches and smaller projects in the Snug without worrying about construction mess.

Someday I’d love to paint these walls or try a pretty wallpaper—I’ve been saving cottage-style attic room ideas for inspiration. The angled walls feel familiar to me; my childhood bedroom had similar slopes, and our first house did too, so this room really feels like home.
I also daydream about built-in bunks at some point. For now we’re happy using the furniture we already have, but it’s fun to imagine ways to make the Snug even cozier.

One simple improvement I’d like is wall sconces above the bed since there isn’t space for bedside lamps. For now, a clip-on reading light works well for guests.
We’re enjoying making this our forever home, improving it one corner—and one cozy bed nook—at a time.

If you’re shopping mattresses, keep an eye out for seasonal sales. A supportive, comfortable mattress can make a big difference for guests and family members who stay overnight.
Do you have a cozy nook for a bed?
