DIY Peacock Feather Wreath
To give my porch a seasonal update for fall, I decided a wreath on the front door would be perfect. Rather than buy something new, I took a fresh look at a wreath I already owned.
I’d used that same wreath on my mantel last spring and liked its square shape and modest size. It wouldn’t get in the way when we come and go, and it wouldn’t overpower the door’s natural beauty. It was almost exactly what I wanted—just missing a small finishing touch.
I wanted something that felt pretty but also a little unexpected—perhaps a bit spooky and whimsical at the same time. Perfect for fall, and especially for the October season.

What came to mind were peacock feathers. They’re stunning and elegant, but their eye-like patterns also have a slightly eerie, watching quality—an ideal balance of beautiful and whimsical for a seasonal wreath.
Instead of foraging, I found a bundle of peacock feathers at a craft store. They offered the same dramatic look without the hassle.
To attach them, I followed a very simple approach: I arranged the feathers on the existing moss wreath and secured them with floral arranging pins. That was it—no complicated steps, no messy glues, no lengthy tutorials.
Finished. A pretty-yet-spooky fall wreath now graces my front door, and it came together quickly and affordably. Easy and satisfying.
Have you made any fall wreaths or used feathers in your seasonal decorating this year?
