We’re thrilled to have our game table in the living room. It has quickly become a favorite spot for date nights, casual meals, family game nights and impromptu gatherings.
Many of you asked about our wooden Aggravation (also called Agitation) board, so I’ve gathered a selection of similar boards that capture the same classic look and feel.

These options aren’t identical to our heirloom board, which has been in the family for years, but they offer a comparable style and quality.
Our board is one-sided for four players, but some of the alternatives below are double-sided and accommodate up to six players—great for larger groups.
Aggravation/Agitation boards similar to our wood one:
Here are a few well-crafted Aggravation-style boards that resemble our wooden set in tone and craftsmanship. Look for solid wood construction, a clean finish, and simple, classic graphics if you want that same warm, vintage feel on your coffee table.
A holiday challenge:
Work hard, play hard. During the holiday season, try unplugging from screens and playing a real board game or working on a puzzle with family or friends. Even a short game with a partner can be a refreshing break from routine and a great way to connect.
Christmas gift idea: Gift experiences instead of just things—choose a beautiful family board game that’s nice enough to display on a coffee table, or assemble a curated game basket for your home. Games that double as décor, such as classic sets disguised as linen-bound books, make lovely, shelf-ready presents.

A few more games our family likes:
Blokus
Quoridor
Dixit
Chickenfoot
My kids have also enjoyed Betrayal at House on the Hill, including the Legacy edition.

If you’re curating a game collection for your living room, consider a mix of strategy, storytelling and cooperative titles that are both engaging and visually appealing when left out on a table.
