TThis charming studio apartment belonged to one of my daughter’s friends and a fellow interior design student, Michaela of Michaela Noelle Designs, while she finished her studies. I’m sharing her space today because it’s delightful and far from a typical college apartment — and because I have a special announcement introducing Michaela to you.
My daughter Courtney (on the right) recently graduated with a degree in Interior Design, and I couldn’t be prouder. Michaela (on the left) graduated with her as well and is a close friend. Both girls share great taste, creative talent, and genuinely warm personalities.
Courtney contributes to The Inspired Room with projects, design collages, and ideas, and she now works full time for Restoration Hardware. She also played an important role in our recent kitchen remodel, offering trusted opinions and fresh perspectives. Working with my daughters on that project was both helpful and a lot of fun.
My other daughter, Kylee, has become my project manager—keeping me focused and on schedule—and she also creates some of the hand-drawn art and recipes you may have seen on The Inspired Room. I’m so grateful for their creativity and support. Collaborating with my girls is one of my greatest joys.
We often joke that we need another sister. When the three of us get together, ideas keep pouring out faster than we can act on them. Although we have a 13-year-old son we adore, he hasn’t yet caught the decorating bug the way the girls have. Still, he enjoys the results of some projects, so there’s hope.
We’re happily busy, but there are always more ideas than hands to carry them out. Between outside jobs and volunteer commitments, our time is limited. That’s where Michaela fits in perfectly.
After a recent breakfast meeting in Seattle—complete with large mugs of coffee and lots of ideas—we decided Michaela might as well be our long-lost sister. While we’re not actually adopting her, we are excited to bring her into our creative circle.
Beginning next month, Michaela will join our team at The Inspired Room, contributing monthly posts with charming DIY projects and entertaining ideas. Her style and enthusiasm complement what we do, and we’re confident you’ll enjoy her contributions as much as we do.
We’re thrilled to welcome another creative voice who shares our passion for design and storytelling. Please join us in welcoming Michaela — we know you’ll love her ideas.
