Kitchens
An inspiring kitchen update to share this week: my friend Heather Bullard of Vintage Inspired Living recently refreshed her kitchen, and she kindly allowed me to feature her work. The result is a warm, thoughtful space that shows how small changes can make a big difference.
What I love about Heather’s update is that it’s more of a makeover than a full remodel. She worked with the existing layout and finishes and focused on thoughtful details that transformed the space. That approach is both practical and inspiring—especially if you want a fresh look without a lengthy renovation.
- Makeover, not remodel: Heather’s changes show how small investments and design choices can refresh a kitchen without tearing everything out.
- Layout ideas: Her kitchen has a layout similar to mine, and seeing how she resolved storage, lighting, and visual flow gave me useful ideas for my own project.
- Glass-front cabinets: I’ve experienced firsthand how adding glass to cabinet doors opens up a kitchen. Heather’s glass cabinets lighten the room and create a charming display area for dishes and decor.
- Attention to detail: The thoughtful finishes and styling throughout the space pull everything together and give the kitchen personality and warmth.
If you’d like to read Heather’s full account of the update and see more photos, be sure to visit her blog to get the full before-and-after story and details about materials and techniques she used.
If you missed the kitchen I featured last week, you can find that inspiration as well—there are always fresh ideas to borrow and adapt.
