Happy Monday! I hope you had a relaxing weekend. Any summer travel plans? I’m heading to the Haven Conference in Atlanta this week to mentor fellow bloggers, and otherwise we’re keeping things local. I’ve grown to love staycations—exploring your own town with fresh eyes can be just as rewarding as traveling far away.
Right now I’m excited to be part of a rug design competition. Only the top ten designs with the most Instagram votes will be produced and sold by Annie Selke through Dash & Albert, so every vote really matters.

To help you picture one of my designs in real rooms, I created three inspiration boards using the striped rug with the cross-trim border. I love a classic rug that adapts to different styles and rooms—being able to move a rug between spaces or refresh a room without replacing rugs is a big plus. Scroll through the looks and see which one you like best.
And for a bit of fun, I couldn’t resist Photoshopping our dogs onto the mockups. They always want to be in photos, so it felt fitting to imagine them as rug models. We had a lot of laughs putting these together.

I don’t usually enter competitions—I prefer to avoid the pressure—but this one was too fun to pass up. Having a rug produced by Dash & Albert would be an incredible milestone for our family.
The voting ends later this week and only the top ten will move forward. Now for the silly part: our dogs photobombed every mockup, so I added them in. They behaved like natural rug models and the results had us laughing—hope you enjoy them too.
