Happy Monday! I woke this morning with the window open and noticed that familiar crispness in the air — a clear sign that my favorite season, fall, is approaching. I love fall. In the Northwest, fall brings rain (which we need), mud (which we don’t), backpacks (back to school) and boots (for moms!). I may be a little overexcited about boot season, but who doesn’t love slipping into cozy, practical boots for the months ahead?
Every autumn I dream about having a proper mudroom: a dedicated space with hooks, shelves, cabinets and cubbies where backpacks, wet coats and muddy boots have their own places. Since I’m currently between homes, I spend time daydreaming about the ideal mudroom instead. Someday soon I’ll have my own house again — maybe even one with the mudroom I imagine — but for now I enjoy collecting ideas and inspiration.
If you subscribe to my blog and use a Comcast email address, you might have missed posts after June. There was a delivery issue and about 1,000 emails bounced, so notifications stopped going out. I’ve missed connecting with you and we’ve addressed the problem. If you’re still not receiving emails, please let me know so we can get you back in the loop.
If you’re curious why we’re between homes and want the full story, you can catch up on our moving updates in the archive (start from the bottom to read chronologically).
Thanks for sticking around — I’ll share a house update this week.
